I was shocked at how much dust the pre-filter collected. I remove the pre-filter monthly and just vacuum it and reinstall it. The pre-filter helps your filter to last longer.I have had my HealthMate Plus for 9 years and it has literally saved my health.
Sometimes I even take the pre-filter and hang it in the shower and spray it. The dirty water is in the tub. When I vacumm the pre-filter I tack the pre-filter to the wall and use a hand vac to get it dust free.
