According to the product description replacement filters should last up to 40 days but it depends on how heavy a smoker you are. I am a heavy smoker, approximately a pack a day and the filters lasts about 1 to 2 weeks. However, the ashtray does stop the smoke from filling the air when the cigarette is just sitting so I do recommend it. I also recommend getting a purifier to suck in the excess smoke you're blowing. Another thing is you would want to get some good batteries because these die out pretty quick also. When the batteries start dying, you'll still hear the motor running but the smoke stops getting sucked in. All-in-all I gave the product 3 stars because there are more pros than cons.
