This unit is great at getting a great deal of the dust and smoke out of the air. I have noticed a big difference in the dust accumilation on the surfaces in my house. It does make some popping noises like a bug zapper but you get used to it after a while. About once a month I take the prefilter and the electric modules out and run them through the dish washer.
