You need to use it in conjunction with the Holmes HAPF30DPDQ-U 2Pack Hepa-Type filters for Holmes® and Bionaire® Air Cleaners in order to collect the finer particles like allergens, dander and pollen. They will do nothing for cleaning or purifying the air by themselves. They can be washed and reused, but the Hepa-Type filters are absolutely necessary. Hepa-filters need to be replaced every several months depending on use. These filters are for the Holmes HAP716-U True-HEPA 3-Speed Tower Allergen Remover.
