I am admittedly obsessive compulsive about keeping my windows clean. I have tried many products and have usually come away unimpressed with most due to streaking. Unlike other spray cleaners, you apply NS-8 on a damp applicator (only use several drops at a time), let dry to a haze, then wipe off with a microfiber cloth. It truly lives up to its claims and has replaced Stoner Invisible Glass as my go to product now.
I've never seen a filter for home use, as well made as what Austin Air Systems puts out. I use 2 Healthmate Jr's in the room where my 2 large parrots reside.(The only reason for having 2 Jr's vs 1 larger filter is that I got both used.)I ordered a new filter for the 2nd filter I had just purchased, knowing it was likely the original.Was extremely pleased in a very short time as to how well this system works (with a known new filter in service)With the feather dander a cockatoo creates, any kind of air filter has it's work cut out for it, and having the Austin units pretty much eliminated ANY dander/feather dust settling anywhere except IN the Austin filter. Makes cleaning the room less of a chore now,with dusitng being just a slight go over.
I bought this little unit when we were moving into a home with previous mild mold issues, as it claimed to cover an area well over the size of our new home. I thought the price was good for a unit offering UV light and an ionizer. However, after one month of operation, I decided to send it back. First, there was very little air passing through the unit even when the fan was set on high, and I even noticed dust collecting on the front grill where clean air was to exit. It had no impact on cooking and other smells in the home, and I was concerned about the use the ozone function around our large family and pets. I did try the ozone function once in the basement when it developed a musty odor after rainfall, and it did clear the air quickly. It appears to me that the unit only meets its claims with the ozone function in operation, but unfortunately, it is not safe to use in this manner when the room is occupied. For a large family, it was not practical. In addition, the acrylic casement was impractical, as it meant that it could never be used in a bedroom at night, unless you wanted the room aglow in neon light due to the UV bulb. I did like the size and its quietness.
I got one of these about five years ago when my daughter got a ferret. It never did anything for the odor. The light that is supposed to light up when the unit needs to be cleaned, never did. I cleaned the unit monthly and there was a lot of dust on the filters, but I could still see a lot of floating dust in my 12'x15' living room. Maybe I expected too much. It still works, although it is now so noisy it gets turned off whenever anyone is in the room.

look at the list below and shop around. all are just re-branded and re-designed cosmetically, if not at all. buy the one with the best price since they are all generic off-brands. should buy it through amazon just to guarantee satisfaction/return/exchange if anything happens. the filters are the same for most and are interchangeable. just double check.
We live in an apartment that was built in the early 1970's and have had a hard time finding filters to fit our furnace/AC unit for years. Until I found these the only ones in the correct size I could find were super cheap quality and didn't do much at all for my allergies.
I just purchased this device and put it into service yesterday to combat the terrible mold issue in our old apartment, and also because we have dust and cat dander no matter how often I dust and vacuum. Where there is a mold flare up, my daughter coughs all night long (and ends up getting sick), which happened two nights ago and prompted me to make this purchase. Last night however, there was zero coughing. The air actually smells and feels fresh and we both slept incredibly well. Its very quiet, sleek looking, and Energy Star rated so I don't have to worry too much about using it 24-7.
Power hungry and loud but it will cool a small room for you.

have had this product for almost a year now. i purchased it on sale at Target for $40. I have not replaced the filter i just vacuum it out monthly and it is still performing very well. Its actually really gross how much dust this product removes from the air i breathe. The noise it generates (which isnt too loud) helps me sleep at night. I keep this thing running on high 24/7 because i have a dog that sheds (picks up his hair as well). the device has two filters the pre-filter which can be washed by hand (i spray some febreze on it to keep my room fresh. and then the regular filter. I would definetly recommend this air purifier.
I was in the market for a new vacuum. I had been buying cheap 60$ eurekas, that did the job on our 650 square foot apartment. The third one broke and decided it was time to just get a "good" vacuum. My family in the past had Electrolux and never ever had problems so I did a lot of research. Dyson has great marketing but when you get down to it they're just too expensive and for what?
Oust produces a spray deodorizer/sanitizer that is useful. By itself, it is not able to overcome the dread "basement odor," but it is better than many other products.
I decided to purchase several pouches of volcanic rocks from a couple different vendors to see if they are all the same and whether one has an advantage over the other. I tried both the "house odors" and "pet odors" varieties. The rocks from Amazon.com seem, in essence, to be the same as from the other store except for a couple differences that are important to me. The rocks from were packaged nicely, cleanly, and were easy to open. On the other hand, the rocks from this amazon.com vendor were packaged sloppily and arrived filthy with volcanic dust. Even though I was careful, the dust got all over the place. Also, the packages were difficult to open without leaving some of the plastic and paper label attached, so they were unattractive to have around the house. I ended up having to hide them behind furniture. Another good thing about the rocks the pouches each came with a nice, separate hook to make it easy to hang them. I had never purchased from before and probably will not again (they have nothing else I want) but if you are looking into purchasing volcanic rocks, you may want to check them out. They cost more but I think it's worth it I found that I was angry at myself for not buying all of them from there. (P.S. I have absolutely no affiliation with .)
great air purifier, love the black color. used this for cleaning up so called zero voc paint fumes. works great and we keep it on all the time and it has made our indoor air quality just amazing.

Recommended to me by my daughter who was told about the product by her boss. We all have cats, which means litter boxes and associated kitty smells in our houses. This is the ONLY product that has been successful in virtually eliminating the odors. Now I don't have to do the SMELL :) Test before entering my house first when followed by guests. I had been buying the 8oz. size but my daughter again informed me that I could buy the 16oz. size online. I like the product so much that I will continue to use it.
What wasn't clear to me at all when purchasing this item is that I'd need two in order to properly replace my existing 17005 filter. Not cool at all. I bought a totally different filter today and I'm going to return this one if the new one is actually the right size.
Great OEM factory filter that is the same as the one that comes with the vacuum when you buy the vacuum. Don't bother to wash this filter as the user manual says you can. It will stink terribly because you can't get all the lint and dirt out of it. I had to soak the plastic cannister parts in ammonia water to get the smell out after I washed the original filter, dried it, & vacuumed with it. YIKES! What a smell. Just toss it and get a new one every time.
All products were in good condition. The only issue I had was the CPZ filter, which is medium sized round drum, is supposed to fit inside a the larger HEPA drum. It was quite a struggle to get the one filter inside the other---we have an older model machine and previous times we've replaced these, the CPZ just slid in, with extra room to spare. I eventually, with gently jiggling the filter and then just pushing it, got it to work. Once it was set, all looked fine with the set up and the machine is filtering beautifully.
