Ok,

These Ionic purifiers do work; however, mine stopped working after a year and here's what the Tech Support representative told me over the phone:

Rep: "Sir, how long have you owned the twin purifiers?"

Me: "about a year and a few months now."

Rep: "What is the problem?"

Me: "A RED light comes on right after I turn them on but the metal filters are clean!" Note: red light means filters must be cleaned.

Rep: "Ok, sir. What you need to do is send them both in and we'll replace them"

Me: "How much will this cost me?"

Rep: "$50 for you to send them and another $30-$50 for us to send them back"

Me: "What is the reason why they BOTH stopped working?"

Rep: "Well, after 1 year, use or no use, the wires inside the purifiers die and need replacing"

Me: "So, every year or so I must spend another $100 to get these working again?!!!"

Rep: "Yes, Sir. That's correct."

Me: "Ok. Well forget it. I will go on and give my review on these items right now."

As these Ionic purifiers seem to do a good job cleaning the air "without the consumer having to keep buying filters", the truth is that you must continue buying them every year for $100. According to the rep they give you news ones; they do not fix them or replace the dead wires.

I, for one, will not purchase this brand again. I do not hold a grudge against the people who sold them to me or the makers, but you as a consumer who wants things to last and work properly, beware of this twitch/deffect/malfunction or whatever you may want to label it.

Do your research for a real good filter. I am off to that search right now.

BestAir L15 Lasko Replacement Wick Filter

This ad makes it look like it fits the humidifier pictured, but the filter is for a 1155 the humidifier pictured is a 1115. Of course I didn't notice that until it arrived and it did not fit. You can cut it to make it work, but it is hard to cut and there is a lot of waste. Amazon really flubbed this one, so be careful!

Honeywell QuietCare 3.0 Gallon Moist Humidifier

Maybe it's just that I've had allergies and the constant presence of air cleaners all my life, but to me this product emits a perfectly acceptable level of white noise. It capably humidifies my small condo from a central location, helping my hubby's eczema and my sinuses. Also helps with little annoyances, like staticky hair. I do fear my area's hard water is prematurely aging the filter, but if I go through more filters, so be it, I think it's a reasonable price to pay for the comfort the humidifier brings.

Initially I was hesitant to buy this because I had never heard of the brand name or seller before and couldn't find much on them when I searched. However, I did find some information that said Clean-plus was a new company to the US and has been in business many years overseas. The price was very affordable, so I took a chance, and I'm glad I did.

I absolutely love this little powerful vacuum. I have a thing for vacuums and have owned many, but none have included ALL my favorite features like the Clean-plus.

At 12amps, it is just as powerful as my Kirby vacuum, but weighs a whole lot less! The telescoping wand, onboard attachments, and retractable power cord are very convenient for those of us who want to get the job done quickly. The vacuum stores neatly and takes up minimal space too. There were extra filters in the box, too. One HEPA filter and 2 smaller filters for the air intake and exhaust around the motor. I've never had a vacuum come with extra filters before. This is a very quiet vacuum too.

The only thing that isn't great is that it doesn't clean the throw rugs very well because there is no rolling brush for carpets. But that's ok with me, as my whole house has wood floors.

BestAir A12W Aprilaire 12 Paper Wick Waterpad

I chose this item as a less expensive substitute for the Apilaire water pad. After using it for a few weeks, I ntoiced a puddle of water on the floor around the furnace. After opening the furnace, I found about a half-inch of water at the bottom of the air return duct and some water inside the furnace. I removed the water pad from the humidifer and noticed that there was about a 1/2 inch gap between the top of the pad and the bottom of the water distribution tray. I don't remember whether it was like this when I first installed it ( I think that it was) or whether it may have shrunk or deformed after being wet for some time. In either event, because of the gap, if the air flow through the humidifer is strong enough, the air blows the water dripping off the bottom of the distribution tray directly into the air duct instead of allowing it to dtip onto the top of the pad. Through time, it accumulates at the bottom of the duct and eventually leaks into the furnace and onto the floor. This product is not suitable for use in an Aprilaire model 440 humidifer. Do not buy it. Spend a few dollars more and buy the Aprilaire replacement pad which is a stiffer material instead of this paper-like material and does not have a gap between the top of the pad and the bottom of the distribution tray.

Strata Density Fiberglass Air Filter Size

I ordered these less than a week ago, because I couldn't find this odd filter size at the store. I visited OSH Hardware and Homes Depot-neither one had them.

I wish they were the accordian type--we usually buy the best filters available, but we will just change these more often. The price was great! 12 filters for less than 30 bucks. Who can beat that? And they came right to my dor. It makes me not want to ever go into another giant hardware store at all-who wants to drive, stand in line, be ignored, and then check yourself out at one of those awful "self-check" lines?

The Bissell Steam-mop is a two-in-one toola steam mop and a hand-held steamer. The Bissell mop does an excellent job on cleaning and disinfecting wood and ceramic floors. In many ways it works like a giant steam iron with the squeeze of a trigger you control the amount of steam flowing to the surface.

Notes -

Flow control control the amount of steam to the head some surfaces need more steam while others (like wood floors) require less saturation.

Never had any issues with the unit leaking although I would take precautions and wouldn't store it directly on top of wood floors.

During the winter, the air in our home is VERY dry so I was not turned off by reviews of this humidifier producing too much moisture. Boy was I wrong! After 3 consecutive days of overnight use, the carpet was drenched AND there was this odd white dust on everything within a 2-3 foot radius of the humidifier! Instructions say to spray on spot, wait 5 minutes, and wipe with a clean cloth. I've been brushing it in a little because the spots are so old but that's probably unnecessary. I ordered a Airpurifier HEPA filter so I saw the charcoal filters and when I bought my unit it only came with the Hepa filter so I never tried it till I got these the HEPA filter does a good job but it does not take the oders out of the air the charcoal does I have noticed a difference with the charcoal filter in it. I recommend useing one.

I suppose I had dustmites in my mattress which cause itching problem every time I slept on that bed. I removed the fitted sheet and left the mattress naked for a couple days. I sprayed the bed with ADMS twice (a few hours apart), put a clean fitted sheet back on, and no more itching problem.

ADMS recommends reapplying every 30 days, but I plan to do that every time I change the sheets.

It worked after the first try. Two thumbs up.

I wish they had listed ingredients on the bottle though. It just says "natural, non-toxic" ingredients. It would be more comforting to know what did you just actually sprayed on your bed, something that you sleep on every night.

Living Fresh 3500 SQF Ozone Ionizer Cleaner Ionic Air Purifier Clean Air

I just got this from UPS about 4 hours ago. After spending a month checking out home air purifiers, I settled on the idea of getting an ion generator/ ozone cleaner because it made sense.

After scanning all of the air purifiers on Amazon, I came across Living Fresh and was impressed by all of the positive customer reviews, so I ordered it last week.

It came packaged in an extremely well packaged box and it impressed me right off with its' sturdy construction and heft. The solid cherry wood and tight construction impressed. I have seen extremely similar products to this one claiming to do the very same thing and costing several hundred dollars more.

This product has clear and simple instructions. Just insert the two ceramic plates in the two slots in the back and plug it in. I set the ozone switch to the lowest setting and the negative ionizer on the high setting.

Within minutes, it changed the atmosphere throughout my bedroom. I work out with kettlebells in my bedroom and it was beginning to smell like a gym locker room and despite the fact that my sense of smell is pretty non existent, it was starting to get to even me, so I bought this. Within that first hour, it changed from stinky socks to a clean fresh smell exactly like that smell outdoors right after a rainstorm or a thunderstorm.

Within two hours, my entire house has gone through a transformation in the atmosphere. It actually smells clean and fresh. Odors and cooking smells, etc are GONE! That is truly amazing to me since I usually don't smell or discern smells easily. If I notice it, it is saying something.

I actually felt my mood improve noticeably and I LIKED IT! This is an astounding effect because I am not usually the "Mr Happy" type of guy. And, I am absolutely sure this is not some placebo effect going on. I am not open to suggestion very easily. This is the REAL DEAL!

This thing works gangbusters and it works fast.

Now, the big question for me is: How long will this product last? Will keep going one year? two years? even three years? If it can I consider that a major success since it only cost a little over $119.

I will follow the directions and clean and maintain each month and I will keep my fingers crossed!

Go Berkey Kit - Portable Water Filter

I have had my portable "Go" Berkey for several months now and take it with me everywhere I travel. Hotels in the US, friends houses, foreign destinations everywhere! In fact, I like it so much, that I then purchased the "Big Berkey" that holds 2.25 gallons. I was so impressed with this, that I then purchased the Colossal "Crown" Berkey that holds 6.5 gallons! Regarding those who say it "leaks", I can authoritatively say that the spigot only leaks for those who don't know how to "screw a lid on tight" or don't know how to properly connect a hose onto a faucet. The only "leak" issue that potential purchasers will need to be prepared for, is that it can be overfilled, causing the water to leak out between the upper and lower chambers.

Obviously, if the upper chamber is overfilled, it will cause the lower chamber to overfill, resulting in a overflow between the two. This is only a problem for those who are unprepared.

Screw on the spigot well and don't overfill, and you won't have any problems.

This is truly a professional product, that is NOT just a water filter it is a very sophisticated water purifier. It does what it is supposed to do and does it very, very well. It is exceptionally well built and performs flawlessly.

Don't be misled by those who are misinformed and don't know the basic fundamentals of how to screw on a faucet. I now own three of them and have no regrets.

It's operation is simple. It's performance is stellar. It's quality is unrivaled. And the end product is truly life saving!

Buy it with confidence. Use it with unbridled trust. Foreign workers all over the world depend on it and you can too!

BestAir VC-1 Magnetic Vent Cover

After reading lots of negative reviews on magnetic vent covers, I bought these BestAir Magnetic Vent Covers from a home improvement store by me. I was putting them on ceiling vents in my basement, so I was expecting them to fall off, and I would have to take them back. But, to my amazement, they did work! I even thought after air was blowing through the vents they would fall off, but they didn't. The best advice I can give is to cut them down so that they have maximum contact with the outside edge of the vent. They seem to need a lot of surface area contact in order for them to stay. But when they are cut correctly, they work perfectly. I rated them 4 stars instead of 5 because I have not owned them that long, and don't know how they perform over the long run.
