Frigidaire PU7502A Central Vacuum Canister Power Unit Only

This is a powerful vac. I am using it for an area approximately 3000 sf, but all single level.

One issue that I found was that when I was vacuuming foam powder, that the filter was not fine enough to prevent it from coming out of the exhaust pipe (old powdered foam was out of 17 year old sofa set that I was ripping out where sofa foam cushion eroded to power form).

However, for typical home debris like dust, food partials, paper cuttings, etc, it is perfect. However, if you are vacuuming fine dust like I just mentioned above or another example may be printer toner power spill, then the out-of-box filter is not fine enough. I am sure one can find a HIPPA filter or another fine grain filter to prevent that.

16x28x6 Lennox Air Filter

I though I was ordering original equipment replacement filters. Not the case. And while the filters are a quality finish, the filters do not fit snug into original filter housing. Further, the original filter comb separators are completely incompatible with the replacement filters pruchased here. I had no problem returning the unopened boxes but lost out on the open box ($55.00) and shipping charges ($17.00) There is no easily discernable mention that the filters are NOT original equipment replacements.

SoleusAir Energy Star 45 Pint Dehumidifier

I purchased from menards for 149.99 on sale a few days ago to replace an old reliable noisy westinghouse. This unit is very quiet in comparison and does an excellent job of removing water. I called customer service 2 times on just simple questions and both times I actually was able to talk to a real person within a mater of minutes. Customer service was extremely helpful and actually was from the USA. Great service! The owners manual is very short, simple and well done. I am very pleased and I have done a lot of research on other units. This unit is excellent.

Crane Drop Shape Cool Mist Humidifier

I received this humidifier 2 weeks ago after searching for a decent humidifier to replace the one i owned that was famous for robbing me in replacements filter, etc. fees. This thing fits the bill. The design is great, it's super quiet, and gets the job done. In choosing this product i read all the reviews. The reviews that made me hesitant to purchase this were the complaints that said: a)that the furniture on and around the humidifier got wet all the time, b)that the machine did not cut off if empty, as advertised, c)that the machine is hard to clean, and d) that it makes a lot of noise.

With hesitation, I purchased the product in good faith.

I was immediately pleased by the design. I read the owner's manual even though i thought it all was a "no brainer". The manual actually explained a)how to adjust the mist as to not wet the furniture around it, and b)that the machine will turn off when empty, but the light on the device will remain lite...obviously the part those that said the machine did not turn off failed to read, and c)how the machine is easy to clean with a vinegar or chlorine solution.

Cleaning is easy. I recommend using the bleach solution as bleach will kill anything..not to mention it also gets rid of the discoloration.

Lastly, the sound the comes from the machine is very subtle, but when u hear it, it is exactly like the soothing sounds of a filter running on a fish tank. It actually helped me sleep... having this white, very subtle noise.

I like this thing. My skin and nose are happy.

I hope this clarifies some of the ambiguity i found in the other reviews....

Honeywell Long-Life Pure HEPA QuietCare Air Purifier

As someone who is highly allergic to cigarette smoke and other air pollutants and irritants, I purchased a round Honeywell HEPA air filter when it first came on the market several years ago. It still works well in the living room, but it is quite noisy even on its lowest setting.

This year I purchased another Honeywell air cleaner with a HEPA filter (Model 17400) for my bedroom because I had contacted bacterial pneumonia last year and wanted to make sure I did not get it again. Next, I purchased this Honeywell 17000 Air Cleaner (with HEPA filter) for use in a smaller bedroom which has been turned into a home office and library.

These air cleaners really work! This winter I have not had a cold or flu. Also, this Honeywell Air Cleaner with HEPA filter is whisper soft, and I have had no problems with sleeping, working, reading, watching tv, or listening to music when it is running on the low and medium settings. I leave it on all the time, and I've found that it cleans the air best when the door is closed.

It has a convenient handle on the top, so I can move it to another room quite easily. Also, it is light enough that I can take it with me in the car if I want to use it away from home.

The prefilters last about 3-6 months, (and they can be vacuumed often if you have pets who shed). I change my HEPA filter every year, but you can wait 3 years to do so. These filters are easy to change. The Model 17000 is for a smaller room, and the Model 17400 is for a larger space.

Highly recommended for anyone who has pets, who lives with or entertains people who smoke, and who is allergic to dust, molds, or pollens.

Hunter 30928 Replacement Filter

I bought the Hunter air purifier for my basement. The unit itself was about $60 and the replacement filters are about $30.00, every three months. So, it is rather like a printer that is cheap to buy, but they get you with the replacement of the ink.

The air purifier works well with these filters.

Fein TII1MCRN 1 Micron Vacuum Filter

We bought and used this filter on our wet-dry vac for cleaning up our house. We're in the middle of some serious rehab, restoring our 1904 house to its original charm, grace and majestic beauty. (estimated completion date is 2097)

In the meantime, this filter does a good job of cleaning up the big ugly messes.

Before, when using our wet-dry vac without this filter (we used the traditional filters and even a paper filter) a cloud of dust would rise up out of the vacuum when you started it up.

With this filter in place, there are no large gray clouds looming on the horizon upon start up.

It says it filters down to 1 micron. The eye of an average sewing needle is 750 microns across and the period in written text at 10 font is about 400 microns. 1 micron is pretty tiny.

But as I understand, installing this filter on a wet-dry vac doesn't make it a HEPA vacuum, simply because there are other places on the vacuum for air leaks to occur.

However, as a rehabber, it is a TREMENDOUS help to add this filter onto your wet-dry vac. The filter we purchased is not suitable for wet applications.

Frigidaire FAD301NUD 30-Pint Dehumidifier

Greetings,

I paid $163.17 for this item on October 4th, 2012. First of all, the majority of the reviews here are outdated. One of the biggest complaints was that when you hooked up the hose in the back the water would not flow out. Then you have to call the company and get an additional item to get it to work. BUT they have fixed any and all problems, so order with out fear. I got this item with the full knowledge that when I got it I would be calling the manufacturer to get it working with my hose, but when I called they said my unit was a 2012 model and it was good to go.

I live in coastal texas, in a 1200 sq/ft apartment that was unbearable with out the AC running all day. I'm more then ok at the temperature set at 80, with the dehumidifier going in the kitchen, small hose cut to fit running into the sink.

(I'm currently working on about 500 reviews, I order pretty much everything from Amazon but I (until now) never review. So I'm going through the years of orders to catch up, and try and give back to the system. If your reading this PLEASE hit the button saying this review was helpful, it does help out the people that make reviews, and trust me it takes a lot of time... I try not to make long winded reviews, all of the specs are in the product description)

Dehumidifier With Humidistat SoleusAir 25 Pint SG-DEH-25-4

I just commented on another review, telling how I got this cute little dehumidifier to drain externally instead of filling the bucket. I'll copy that information below too. But first I should talk about a much more serious problem I had with mine, a problem that required my disassembling the unit to an extent probably no other owner would be willing to do. But this little dehumidifier was so cheap and appealing it was worth the risk to me.

(I discovered the hard way that all manufacturers now consider dehumidifiers disposable items, so they never fix them even under warranty. Some like Frigidaire will give you a replacement, but most will make getting it serviced under warranty so expensive and tiresome that you'll give up and buy a new one. I figured at this price trying to get it fixed professionally would end up costing more than it cost new. Besides, I love taking things apart to see how they tick.)

The problem was that the "Bucket Full" light was always on, and nothing I did would make it go off; and if the dehumidifier thinks the bucket is full it will not turn on the compressor. That meant my brand new dehumidifier would NOT dehumidify. After carefully disassembling the thing, I finally discovered that the cable from the bucket sensor switch was unplugged from the circuit board, and all I had to do to fix it was plug in that cable. If I had known from the beginning what was wrong, it would have taken no more than 15 minutes to fix, but since I DIDN'T know it took several hours.

In disassembling the unit, I was impressed by the quality of the workmanship and materials inside; it's a shame it was almost ruined by one little unplugged cable. By the way, I found a very responsive contact at Soleus Air by sending an e-mail to contact-at-soleusair-dot-com. The guy who responded in a matter of minutes was named Christopher, and although the disconnected cable deep inside was beyond his expertise he was very responsive and did his best to be helpful. If he was really on the other side of the world, he impersonated an American better than most do.

Now I have a great little dehumidifier that cost less than half as much as any other dehumidifier I could find, and it's keeping my basement just as dry as the two 70-pint, $200+ dehumidifiers I had before. I'm going to buy another one while they're still available at such an astounding price.

Solving the drain problem:

I already had a garden hose y-adapter I wasn't using, like this one: Camco 20113 RV Metal Garden Hose Y Valve, although I expect any similar adapter would work just as well. I screwed it onto the dehumidifier's drain adapter, with the two outlets pointing up and down. Then I screwed the drain hose onto the outlet pointing down, made sure the valve for it was open, and now it works perfectly.

Make sure there is no place in the drain hose that is kinked or that rises instead of falls, because the drain depends entirely on gravity and can't force the water to rise any distance at all or go through a restriction.

This is a problem with many dehumidifiers, not just this one. If the water has to rise any distance at all even a fraction of an inch to get out of the external drain, it will flow into the bucket instead.

I'm using a length of clear plastic ½" hose I bought at HD so I can see the water flowing through it, and the brass coupling that fits it onto the ¾" garden hose outlet has enough offset in it to keep the water from passing through when it's mounted horizontally; but the downward angle of the y-adapter allows the water to flow easily down into and through the hose now.

I also opened the valve on the y-adapter for the outlet pointing up. It won't hurt anything, since (as described above) the water can't rise high enough to go out it, and letting air in at that point can help the water to flow more freely down through the hose.

Shark XSH035 Hand Vac Tap-Clean HEPA DustCup Filter

I ordered 3 of these as I found them hard to locate. The filters are advertised with debris screens. Not a single one came with the debris screen. I am assuming the seller has kept them or given them away and is still selling these at full price. I have had to reuse the screen from my original filter. Luckily it was salvagable. Good delivery, bad service to remove the screens.

Toot Away | Natural + Organic SCENT FREE Air Freshener

Or at least ought to be. Not to knock past prizewinners, because they're really smart and accomplished and all, but I think there should be a category for applauding stuff people like you and me can really appreciate. Like this stuff!

I don't know how this product does what it does, but I think it does it better than anything else I've tried.

Circumspect enough for you?

You spritz the air and anything you want to go away goes. It's as if whatever happened didn't. This spray does NOT mess around. I've never seen anything like it. A little goes a long way. I keep a bottle in the bathroom, one in my purse, but the jury's still out on making it a gift. (I don't want people to think I think they're smelly or anything. Sometimes folks take stuff the wrong way, you know? I gave a cousin a book on healthy eating and she quit speaking to me for some reason I still don't get. Go figure.)

But it's non-toxic and erases odors, and that is very cool indeed. Get this stuff and believe me, you will make yourself and everybody in your immediate vicinity very happy!

Lasko #3723 20-Inch Premium Box Fan 3-SPEED

This is an in-depth video review of Lasko's most recent entry into the premium three-speed box fan market. We will cover all of the bases here, including: manufacturing quality, speed settings, and relative sound levels compared with other box fans.

Summary: We love this fan!

UPDATE 7/14/2010: The Lasko in the video has unfortunately perished as a result of the actions of dastardly neighborhood pests. I can't go into detail because of pending litigation, but nevertheless the fan was still going strong after nearly *three years* in service! The upside? This model is still produced! Thank the heavens! So we've bought another. The new model is as well-built as the last. Nothing blows like a Lasko!

FAPF01/FAPF02 3M Filtrete Aftermarket Replacement Filter

This product is about the same as a CHEAP furnace filter that you could purchase from Home Depot or Lowes for much less. If you're like me you purchased your Filtrete Air Purifier for almost HEPA properties. Make sure that when you order, you order Genuine 3M replacement and not "Aftermarket"...if you do order this aftermarket product, you will not be satisfied as it only has maybe 25% to 30% of the filter media as the 3M.

Holmes HAP759-TU Allergen Remover Air Purifier

I purchased this air purifier at another store last year for double the price. I think it has been discontinued because I cant find it on the Holmes website, but all the filters are available. It is excellent. I have it in my finished basement and it has made the biggest difference. I'm a very clean person and we run a dehumidifier in the basement in the summer, but year round, I smell nothing anymore no basement smells or pet smells (we now have a dog). Also, we get the occasional mouse which leaves a rodent smell and that worried me, but that is all gone as well. I went off my allergy medicine when I purchased this purifier to do a test and have not had to go back on it. I am sensitive to dust mites, dander and such which irritate my allergies, but I have been pill free since last year which is a big plus. I have my purifier on the lowest setting for the higher settings are a little loud to me. Since this purifier is only $69, I feel it would be a wonderful investment to those of you haunted by allergies like mine. My nose is little runny now but nothing that is not expected time of year here in NH when temps have been in single digits which means the dry air makes your allergies worse. I also have a humidifier on my first floor to add moisture in the air. We are a comfortable family that no longer need to pop a daily pill.

One All KF111 1-Cup Personal Coffee Maker

I received mine while in the field in Iraq.

It then followed me all around the world with me and ALWAYS made me coffee.

Anywhere I could get hot water, I had a cup of coffee. These are awesome to put in care packages for troops. We've heated water over our sternos and could have a cup of coffee in the middle of nowhere! These also work for loose leaf herbal teas. I am grateful for mine, and will never leave, nor forsake it! 16X25X5 MERV 13 Goodman Replacement Filter

These are the by far the best filters I've ever had in a furnace. These MERV 13 filters do an excellent job of filtering the air without restricting air flow. There is a noticeable difference in the air quality and dust levels in the house after installing this filter. These filters are fairly pricey, but for this type of filtering system, and the quality of filter it's not bad at all. Luckily a 2 pack will last for about a year. I am happy with the product, will purchase them again, and would recommend them to others.

Blueair 601 Air Purification System

The product description and independent reviews (e.g., allergybuyersclub) say it all. This is an excellent air filter, quiet & reliable. The improvement in my office's air quality is dramatic. My unit is combating strong chemicals, pollen, auto fumes & cigarette smoke seeping in my window cracks, and occasional thick smoke from controlled burns. With the BlueAir601 on, I don't react to any of it, and I have very sensitive allergies.

Bionaire BAP815B-U Mini Tower Air Purifier

I've owned this Bionaire purifier for about 8 months and so far I have no complaints. This month the red check light went on which I assumed was to replace the filter. Filter replacement was very easy. Amazon sells the filters for $25 for a two pack which is a really good deal. I noticed nose stuffiness and allergy symptoms reduced within a month after I owned the product. It quickly removes smoke and other bad smells. I enjoy the 3 settings although I mostly use the medium and high settings. Some people are picky about noise but the medium setting is just a quiet hum and of course the high setting is a little louder but I find it useful for blocking out outside noise anyway. Overall, I think this is a good product for the price.
