BestAir L8-C Lasko Cascade Humidifier Filter

I purchased this to replace a dirty filter in my Lasko 1128 humidifier. It is a direct replacement of the filter that came with the device and fit perfectly. It humidifies just as well as the OEM filter. This also has antibacterial properties built in and so far so good. Amazon has it for the best price of any place I've seen (Prime for the win!) I've seen these as expensive as $24.99 at a local Lowes so definitely get it on Amazon with your prime membership.

Alen Paralda - Dual Airflow Air Purifier Tower

At the recommendation of my sister, who has bought the Paralda first we purchased the air purifier for our home. My mother suffers from asthma and terrible allergies and lives with us so anything we can do to make her more comfortable is worth it.

The Paralda is long and slender yet compact it easily fit in our living room and didn't stick out like a sore thumb. It is very quiet and has varying speeds. It also had a UV lamp that zaps bacteria and anything the HEPA air filter doesn't get. I noticed the air seemed fresher and there was less dust on the furniture. It felt like the pristine air you usually find in the dentist office fresh, cleaner, very comfortable. The Paralda is not noisy at all compared to our Ionic Breeze air purifier we used to keep in my mother's bedroom. The control pad was very easy to figure out even my mother could manage it on her own.

We have had the Paralda for several weeks now and my mother seems to have more energy from sleeping better as a result of our cleaner air which makes the price, to me, completely worth it. I must also mention we run the Paralda all the time and we have seem no marked increase in our electric bill ... it is a Energy Star rated appliance and every little bit of savings helps us nowadays. I'd highly recommend this unit.

Essick Air 427-300 2-Speed Evaporative Console Humidifier

Up here in the deep north it is essential to have humidifier if you have musical instruments, or anything made out of nice wood. I have tried several different options, and evaporative humidifiers are the best. This one has enough nice features to warrent an excellent rating. The main great feature is that it is easy to add water to the system. The tanks remove easily, and can be filled from the kitchen sink (they are too tall for filling in a bathroom sink). In the dead of winter expect to fill it daily, but fortunately this is big enough to only need filling once per day. Other nice features include a fan speed control (pump humidity in fast because you were gone all weekend and its dry), or quiet. At low speed settings you barely know its on. I also like the optional air cleaning evaporator. It apparently slows down air flow, but that seems trivial since the fan can simply be turned up.

Sharper Image Ionic Breeze 3.0 Compact Silent Air Purifier

I purchased this after an informercial. My warrenty was for 3 years. Lucky for me, since 14 months after receiving the unit it died with no warning.

The manufacture made me return it AT MY OWN EXPENSE and then they sent me a new unit. Took 2 months.

Well, the new unit arrived 8 days ago. It died an hour ago. I called the customer service and refused to pay to send it back AGAIN.

They ARE sending me out a new unit (again), but it will take up to 10 business days to receive. They agreed to send a pre-paid shipping label this time too. (Could take a month though.)

Meanwhile, I have nothing. After reading the reviews below, I could have kicked myself. I subscribe to the online version of Consumer Reports so did what another did...looked it up. Consumer Reports says this Ionic Breeze only "removes a few particles from the air", nothing else. They also did the test, as the infomercial showed, of putting the Breeze in an enclosed space with smoke and turned it on. It did NOT do what the infomercial said. It did not "power through smoke". It did nothing.

I am taking the advice of Consumer Reports. I am refunding my money on the Breeze and purchasing "the high-scoring Friedrich C-90A and Whirlpool AP45030HO models" which DOES work...and work well.

Avoid the Ionic Breeze unit, for the home AND/OR the car.

Febreze Candle Apple Spice & Delight Air Freshener

Don't know what's happened to the Febreze candles but the last two orders I have received have been a big disappointment. The wicks are not centered and the candle on burns halfway down and the the wick is gone. This is certainly no fault of

Amazon since they don't make the candles. Guess I'm gonna have to switch to Glade candles and give them a try.

Hoover Air Purifier Replacement HEPA Filter

I purchased a Hoover Air Purifier about 5 months ago. Over time I would take the filter out, wash the pre-filter, and try and shake out dust from the Hepa filter. I thought I could keep this up for a year or so. I run my filter on "auto" 24/7. It usually just sits in stage 1 unless I'm sweeping or the dog is running around. I have hardwood floors throughout my home so the dust and dog hair travel around a lot. The purifier works great and really helps!

I saw this replacement filter on Amazon at a decent price so I picked it up and switched out my old filter. I was amazed that the next morning the air seemed fresher and cleaner. I really didn't think it was that bad and I didn't think changing the filter would make a huge difference, but it did. I will keep buying these from Amazon at the $24.99 price and replace my filter every 5-6 months. As it now is winter the house seems dusty and stuffy and this filter greatly helps. I also have a wood fireplace which kicks up some smoke/ash and the Hoover Air Purifier and Hepa filter work great.

The filter and the Hoover Air Purifier are highly recommended!

DAPF70 DeLonghi FRESHZONE HEPA Filter

The filter for my DeLonghi air cleaner is no longer made, but this one fits perfectly. So, for anyone who's looking for a DAPF50 filter, don't waste your time. This one is the same size and actually is better made than the old filter.

It's not inexpensive, but it works well.

Hunter 30067 Hepatech Air Purifier

Shortly after adopting a cat from a local humane society, my son developed asthma as a direct result of an undiagnosed cat allergy. An allergist advised us to remove the cat from our home (some friends adopted it) and as much of the cat hair and dander as we possibly could. I did some online research and decided that an indoor air purifier would probably help us out and relieve my son's asthma and allergy symptoms. I purchased this Hunter air purifier #30067 and model #30251 also made by Hunter and placed this one in my son's room and the other one in the kitchen. Within about an hour of plugging the air purifiers in, my son's itchy/red eyes and sneezing and coughing were almost gone. On two different occasions, my older son turned the purifiers off and within a short time, my allergic son's symptoms returned!! These two units have been wonderful for my son's allergies. I have had the purifiers for about a month and I just cleaned the pre-filters with the vacuum cleaner. I was amazed at the amount of dust and cat hair I could see on the pre-filter. The replaceable filters are looking a little gray in color, but I don't think they need replacing just yet. I have found several online companies that stock the replacement filters. My only complaints with the air purifiers are that they are a little loud. You will get used to the sound after awhile. And, I am having trouble figuring out what replacement filters to buy. This isn't real clear. But other than these two minor complaints, I am very pleased with the price of both Hunter air purifiers and the job they are doing in easing my son's troublesome allergy/asthma symptoms. I would highly recommend this product!

Strata Density Fiberglass Air Filter Size

I ordered these less than a week ago, because I couldn't find this odd filter size at the store. I visited OSH Hardware and Homes Depot-neither one had them.

I wish they were the accordian type--we usually buy the best filters available, but we will just change these more often. The price was great! 12 filters for less than 30 bucks. Who can beat that? And they came right to my dor. It makes me not want to ever go into another giant hardware store at all-who wants to drive, stand in line, be ignored, and then check yourself out at one of those awful "self-check" lines?

I ordered these from Amazon, got them delivered right to my doorstep in less than 7 days. Just perfect.

20x25x4 (19.5 x 24.5 x 3.75) Accumulair Emerald 4-Inch Filter

I was very disappointed in these filters. First they are not 25 inches by 20 inches by 4 inches. They are not well made. They are rather flimsy. They are approximately 3 and 1/2 inches thick. This left a 1/2 gap in my furnace filter compartment that caused an irritating rattle and an improper air seal. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Brushtech B68C 10-Feet Long Dryer Vent Duct Cleaning Brush

When comparing this brush to the other kits sold on Amazon I appreciated the fact that there were no flimsy gadgets promising to get in every crevice of the dryer/vent. This is simply a brush and a good quality one at that. The only thing holding back a 5-star rating on this is the length of the snake. 10' was nowhere close to reaching all the way thru my dryer vent duct. I had to tape the handle to my fish tape and feed it thru the duct that way. After running it thru 3 times it was squeaky clean and my dryer does in fact dry the clothes faster reducing my energy consumption.

3M Filtrete Eureka HF-2 HEPA Vacuum Filter

I have had my Eureka 4870 vacuum for 7 yrs. I replaced the generic HEPA filters I WAS buying from other Amazon suppliers with the black 3M Filtrete Model HF-2 listed here, and (believe it or not) the black 3M Filtrete is far superior IMHO. The amount of air is much greater coming out of the front of the vac. A restricted HEPA Filter is just like a restricted bag. The generics I had used before had an orange casing & had the A & H scent "pad" in the center. Not good....not only did they smell worse than no scent at all but obviously the scent pad was restricting the air flow. Do not buy the Arm & Hammer models. They are shown on the first image above but mine does not look like that at all. The 3M Filtrete package is red & blue not red & white as the Arm & Hammer is. The 3M Filtrete Eureka HF-2 allows more air to pass through the vac, meaning more suction. Mine has the model # 67802A on the back (not front) of the wrapper, does not mention ARM & HAMMER just 3M Filtrete & has a black filter case and may be difficult to find now with all the look-alikes and wrong pics posted. I have posted my own images above of the new one I just received today. I'll gladly pay the extra $5 or so over the cheap generics. The vac also now makes a satisfying deep suction sound I have never heard before. I also use 4 of the 3M Filtrete stand-alone HEPA air filters so I know they make great filters. Worth the small $$ difference to me for sure. Try one for yourself. I ordered from Amazon Prime & they did not send the Arm & Hammer shown in the first pic. Thank goodness. The correct 3M Filtrete package is red & blue with a model # 67802A on the back, not 61111 on the front. Confusing.

Ionic Pro CA200 ionic Air Purifier

Firstly, I have been a Ionic Breeze user for more than a decade, and now I am on my fourth generation unit, the first of our first generation ones died after 11 years of continued 24/7/365 use.

Kinda' had to get a new one.

We started with the standard quadra due to moving into an apartment with 2 cats and a litter box. Dust, dander, cat food and our smoking habit led to the need to clean the air, and one unit kept a 1,200' apartment smelling, well it kept it from smelling.

When we moved into a house, added 2 more cats and 2 more litter boxes we also added another quadra, with the same resultno smell except when we got lazy and failed to clean the unit (it shuts off when too dirty), and then we became aware just how effective these things are.

INCREDIBLY EFFECTIVE!!

When the other guys make claims that these do not move any air theough them, I can show that there is indeed an air flow created by the ionization occuring when a charge passes... nevermindjust put your hand in front of one and feel the actual breeze coming out of it. No moving parts mean there is very little wear and tear, and even less to wear outlike I said, my first one died after 11 years of constant use. Try that with a unit that has a fan assembly, an additional air filter for continued expense and maintenance, and the inherent noise that accompanies the whole deal... um no thanks.

Bottom linethese things work, and work well for a long, long time.

And yeah, they make great gifts for people with alergies, family members who you can never figure out what to get, and in-laws.

Hunter 30917 Replacement Filter

This is not a HEPA filter, since it does not meet HEPA standards in terms of particle filtration efficiency. Putting "HEPA" in the name is deceptive, and allows to sell a cheap item for several times the price.

I got this to test the filter media to see if it can be used for a true HEPA application in an electronics room. We have tested this filter at 60 CFM using an APC plus particle counter and got the following readings (presented as counts in the 0.3, 0.5, 1.0, and 5.0 micron ranges). Numbers are accurate to within 10%.

Ambient air:

20565, 1125, 254, 0

Hunter-Filtered air:

2102, 51, 32, 0

Positive control (true HEPA filter we used a Whatman HEPA-CAP here to make sure the counter is accurate)

0, 0, 0, 0.

Thus, this filter is ~90% efficient which should be enough for the most folks to achieve an allergy relief, but also could be achieved by a variety of much cheaper electrostatic filters rated above MERV10 one can get at HomeDepot.

The federal HEPA standard is 99.97% particle removal at 0.3 microns and this filter is more than 2 orders of magnitude (factor of 100+) below this rating. The media appears to be polypropylene and has a surface area at least an order of magnitude smaller than a true HEPA filter which is not surprising.

Holmes HAP242-UC HEPA Type Desktop Air Purifier

I've owned mine for about 5 years, and I love it. I was surprised to see so many negative comments from other reviewers. If I may add my two cents to the discussion:

* This machine works great as an air purifier for small/medium bedrooms. It is designed to remove dust and other allergens from the air, and it does so quite well in my opinion. It's not meant to clean the air in the whole house. It's not meant to remove strong odors like stinky pets, dirty diapers, etc. That's what an odor eliminator is for. (I use a Hamilton Beach 04271R TrueAir Plug-Mount Odor Eliminator next to the litter box, and I can't complain.) An odor eliminator contains a carbon filter than neutralizes bad smells. A HEPA air purifier contains a filter of thickly folded fibrous paper that strains tiny particles out of the air. The two devices have completely different purposes and methods.

* Yes, you do have to replace the filter periodically. I run my unit continuously on the low setting and have to replace the filter about once a year. Target usually sells them in two-packs or three-packs for a good price.

* It needs to be wiped down with a damp cloth every couple of weeks because the outer casing gathers dust and lint. In my experience it does NOT, as other users have commented, get filthy. I supposed it might if you never cleaned it. The fact that it attracts dust means it's working.

* It's almost silent on the low setting. Medium is audible but not intrusive. The high setting is almost as loud as a dust buster. I've found the low setting to be sufficient for small bedrooms.

I hope this helps.

Steamfast 1500-Watt Multi-Purpose Steam Cleaner

If you've seen any of the promotional videos, NOTE, most of the surfaces are already fairly clean.

Works ok? for lightly soiled areas and small/tight areas, i.e. cracks, joints, small cervices and small flat areas. If using for large areas or medium heavy to heavily soiled/dirty areas plan on spending a LOT OF TIME,(h o u r s), and EFFORT using this product, AND you might still need to use additional products, i.e. soap/chemicals and more EFFORT to achieve the cleanliness your trying to achieve.
