Whirlpool Part Number 883151: Pad, Charcoal

These were just what I needed to make my range hood seem clean(er). I'm vegetarian, but these filters still get grimy. These fit perfectly and I have extras.

DAPF70 DeLonghi FRESHZONE HEPA Filter

The filter for my DeLonghi air cleaner is no longer made, but this one fits perfectly. So, for anyone who's looking for a DAPF50 filter, don't waste your time. This one is the same size and actually is better made than the old filter.

It's not inexpensive, but it works well.

Holmes HAPF600D-U2 True HEPA Replacement Filter

If you haven't figured it out yet, the Bionaire A1230H is basically the same as the Holmes HAPF600D. I bought two boxes of Holmes HAPF600D two weeks ago. I was going to buy another box, but noticed that the Bionaire A1230H looked very similar. The writeup says they fit my Holmes HAP 8756. I bought one box of the Bionaire A1230H, and they look identical to the HAPF600D. But, right now, the Bionaire A1230H is a few bucks cheaper. So, before you buy, compare the prices and buy the cheaper. (almost forgot to say that these are great filters.)

Bionaire BAP9700-U PERMAtech Tower Air Purifier

When Bionaire was founded they were a great company. In fact I still have a unit that was made in 1983 and that is still running fine. All I've had to do is replace the filters and a fan switch. Try finding parts for any of the newer ones...Impossible!

I have had several of these Bionaire air purifiers...many different models and I have had problems with everyone one of them ranging from burned out motors, unable to supply replacement parts or replace the unit that is defective with one of equal or better quality and noisy. It's a sad state of affairs...

They are made in China...Unfortunately many of these air purifiers come from China and that's where they should keep them~Junk!!! Let them pollute their own landfills.

My suggestion would be to buy another brand. There are some still made in the USA and other places that are worthy of consideration. Save yourself a lot of headaches. These are NOT real air purifiers...I struggled giving Bionaire a (1) one star rating.

iRobot Roomba 4210 Discovery Vacuuming Robot

I've been a Roomba user for almost two years, so I know the benefits of a little automated vacuum. However we had three primary complaints that iRobot has addressed in this new version:

1. Inconvenience of coming home to a dead battery

2. Difficult to clean

3. Noisy

4. Could not focus on dirtier areas; only cleaned randomly.

1. We have gotten into the habit of, as we are walking out the door, putting the Roomba to work. However, we always used to have the problem of coming home to Roomba with a dead battery (inevitably it would die in the worst spots, like under our bed just out of reach). Then we would have to plug him in to our charger (which we had to shell out sixty bucks for) and wait for two hours to use him again. That was complaint one for the old version.

iRobot has fixed the battery issue on the Discovery. The fast charger (which we had to pay for before) is now built in. Secondly, and what has proven to be my favorite new feature of the new Roomba, the little vacuum automatically finds his docking station when his battery is about dead. I do have two recommendations on this note, however. The docking station appears to work just like a virtual wall, Roomba doesn't know that it is there unless it crosses its path, so you make sure that it is in a wide open room where Roomba is sure to cross its path in its waning minutes of power. Secondly, now you have to be extra sure to Roomba-proof the room so that he doesn't get stuck. If he's stuck he won't be able to find his way back to the charger.

2. The new version has gotten much easier to clean, especially the main brush. All the pieces now pop in and out of place easier and there are no screws to remove any of the pieces that need cleaning. This has proven to be a huge benefit.

3. The Discovery is noticeably quieter than the older versions, especially on tile surfaces.

4. The new line of Roomba Floorvacs comes with sensors that can detect dirt. That was the first thing we tested when we got our Discovery. I had pieces of Styrofoam broken into small pieces and it detected it and automatically performed a spot clean on that area. Then I put him in the kitchen where I had accidentally dumped a bag of cereal on the floor and then managed to step on it...Roomba focused on that area and cleaned up every little crumb.

I love my Roomba. I 100% recommend that you get one. I bought mine at a local store in the mall and had to return my Pro Elite version 4 times before I finally got one that wasn't buggy. Then, under the warrantee, after my fourth one went on the fritz I was able to upgrade to the Discovery for free. So far after 2 weeks, the Discovery has been bug-free.

Nevertheless, because of the many issues that I have had in the past, and as with any new and emerging technology, buy it where you can purchase an extended warrantee and easily return defective devices.

Notwithstanding, buy a Roomba. Even though my wife and I never have time to clean our floors have been spotless for the last two years.

I hope this helps.

Rainshow'r Bernoulli Polished Chrome Shower Head

I bought this shower head because I was disgusted with the crud building up on our old shower head. I wanted something with no plastic and low flow, but I also wanted a powerful shower. This was relatively inexpensive, beautiful, and well-made. It took about the same amount of time to install as it does to change the nozzle on a hose (save for the time spent getting a wrench from the toolbox to remove the previous showerhead). I'm ordering a second one immediately for our other shower.

Honeywell 50100 Enviracaire Air Purifier

I own two of these air filters and I love them. These air filters do an excellent job of cleaning the air in relatively short order and I keep these air filters in the bedrooms for clean air sleeping. I recently moved into a older house that has dirty HVAC ducting and while I am slowly cleaning those ducts out I needed a temporary fix. Additionally, I own a dog that sheds a lot and I have a child with severe allergies. Additionally, I am also an allergy sufferer (mold and cats). After doing extensive research on air filters, I decided to go with this Honeywell 50100 HEPA filter. There are a couple of reasons for decision. 1) The overall cost of this filter is the lowest (unit + replacement filters) I found at the time. I bought the unit for around $80. The average HEPA filter replacement is around $20. 2) The second reason I bought this unit is that I like noise. This is not one of those whisper quiet HEPA filters and that is OK by me. I am a big fan of white noise (after all I have two kids that like to get up early and make noise). This unit on its lowest setting is fairly quiet. However, the medium setting is loud and the high setting sounds like a jet passing overhead. Most of the time I have the unit set on medium. This is loud enough to drown out the garbage man picking up trash at 4 am. I have been happy with Honeywell products in the past and this is no exception. I also own a larger Honeywell HEPA filter that uses the same filter type as these units so I buy them in bulk. These filters also use a prefilter that goes around the outside of the HEPA filter. Using this filter extends the life of the HEPA filter tremendously. I vacuum the prefilter every couple of months or so. I recommend this filter to anyone who appreciates a well made decently priced HEPA filtration unit and doesn't mind a bit of noise.

Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Upright Vacuum

After going through 2 dysons, a bissel, and a Hoover platinum bagless in the last 8 years, I decided my problem was not all my cats, dogs and messy childrenbut the "bagless" vac instead. I did this get version at Sears since I could test drive it there. I have never had a vac with so much suction!!! I test drove the kenmores, dysons and new LGbut there was no comparison. You don't need an self propulsion on this model b/c once you turn it on, the suction is so great it moves itself across the floor. I know it's not super fancy like the othersbut it's nice to have the brush on/off as a foot pedal on the base you can press easily and it's easy to just drop the bag out when it's full. Great job Hoover!

Black & Decker CHV7202 7.2-Volt Cordless Wet/Dry DustBuster

I've owned several B&D DustBuster's in my life including the original from the early 80's. Since that time, overall design, battery performance, and suction has improved -for the most part. They still all eventually die and therefore require replacement every few years.

Having great success with our impressively powerful 9.6V Dustbuster (model CHV9600, purchased in 2006), we picked up this 7.2V (model CHV7202) for the laundry room since it claims to be a wet/dry vac and I figured 7.2V would be close in performance to the 9.6V.

Boy was I wrong!

From Day One, the suction on this model was so poor, it couldn't even pick up tiny bits of dryer lint on the floor! Our 9.6V model could handle anything you could throw at (as long as the items fit through the opening). But this one? Not even close. To make matters worse, I mounted the charging unit on the wall only to find out that it's quite a challenge to actually "dock" the vac for charging due to it's poor design, so we almost never dock it. In fact, we now bring the 9.6V model upstairs to tackle the tasks that this one failed to do.

In short: I'm not sure who greenlighted this model over at B&D, but they should have been fired. Avoid this one at all costs and get the current 9.6V model (or above). We wanted to return ours, but we made this mistake of tossing out the box.

HAPF 30 Family Care Air Cleaner HEPA Filter

I got these to revive a filter tower I hadn't used for some time. It has an extra membrane for filtering which I think works better than the original equipment. The price was lower than the manufacturer direct and, it seems to be working fine.

Hamilton Beach Blue Humidifier Replacement Filter

I like the size of this humidifier/vaporizor, but it is a little noisier than I expected. I could not find the filters instore anywhere, which was very annoying but I think I saw them at WalMart recently. We run the vaporizor almost 24 hrs a day since our baby girl was born 2.5 yrs ago and I have used 4 filters. It's good for white noise too. Just remember to run it dry each time to make the filter last longer and prevent mildew from growing in the container.

Hunter model 30901, Universal Pre-Filter Replacement

I did receive charcoal pre-filters for use with my Hunter air purifier but was expecting the Hunter product. Instead I received a generic model with a note from the seller stating they were sorry but didn't have the Hunter filters in stock. I did not receive any credit to my account for this vendor substitution.

RO MIGHTY MITE SYSTEM 50GPD

Where I live we have had a few notifications from our local water department of elevated levels of arsenic; NOT GOOD. So I've had it in the back of my mind to get an RO system for some time;

and this little gem fit the bill. I am what you would call "mechanically challenged". I didn't want an elaborate under the counter system with it's own faucet that would have to be installed; to complicated for me; besides I live in a rental; and I was impressed with the reviews here too.

My order arrived in 10 days (there were two weekends in between)So it was fairly fast.

The only complaint (and I notified Abundant Flow) were the instructions. I felt there should be pic's explaining the hardware but in the back of the booklet, was a flow diagram.

First off, remove the aerator from your faucet. Attach the adapter (provided with the unit)by screwing onto faucet where the aerator was. The Quick Disconnect then attaches to the adapter. Connect the RED hose to the Quick Disconnect that mates with the fitting installed on the faucet. No tools required On the Red hose, unscrew the collar slip it over the red hose connect the hose to the nipple on the Quick Disconnect; which locks the hose to the quick disconnect

UPDATE: I didn't know that when you push the quick disconnect up onto the faucet, BE SURE TO PUSH UP ON THE COLLAR OR RING TO LOCK IT ONTO THE FAUCET. Otherwise when you turn the faucet on the quick disconnect will just pop off the faucet. Now I can turn my faucet on full force and fill the container in less time.

I almost sent this unit back. I was unsure about all the water being expelled from the Yellow hose (BAD WATER) which is the drain and little coming from the Blue (Good). I contacted Mark @ Abundant Flow and e-mailed me that you will get about a 4 to 1 ratio of waste (Bad) to Good water. It (Good water)filled up a 32oz juice bottle in just a few minutes. So I'm happy about that. It comes with enough hoses to hang yourself so just cut the excess off just make sure to have enough Yellow for the drain.

I highly recommend to have some containers on hand to store purified water in. I'm using empty gallon milk jugs.

UPDATE

I keep forgetting about the water filling the jug and overflowing so I created an overflow system see pic

UPDATE:

It took 35 minutes to fill up a gallon milk jug

I also ordered an Inline DI Adder Kit here on Amazon for the removal of the arsenic; that unit is the final filter that connects to the Blue line.

So all and all I'm very pleased with this unit once I understood how it works and mounted it to the wall in just minuets; the bracket unfolds see main pic for that then just folds back onto itself.

Update:

I purchased a TDS meter and unfiltered water measured at 106 PPM and filtered 001; note this is within the margin of error so I would presume that it would actually be 0 also I have installed a DI final filter

Eureka ReadyForce Bagged Canister Vacuum

I have been looking at canister vacs for a long time. I bought one, hated it (the floor attachment kept falling off, the filter kept clogging), and ended up returning it. I am pleasantly surprised by this little machine...the suction is great, it's not too loud, doesn't clog, and it's lightweight. Plus the price is right!! I was looking into getting a miele until I found this. I use this at my vacation home (a 60 year old ranch home that produces a LOT of dust) where all the floors are hardwood or tile and I have an area rug. The vac works fairly well on the area rug, too. The handle feels much more solid than the previous machine I had and doesn't fall apart. And I actually prefer the bag to the bagless version I previously had. It is so much easier to change the bag than pull out a canister and have dust flying everywhere. I highly recommend this for someone who has a lot of hardwood floors and wants to get up ALL the dust on the floors, in the corners, under the sofas!!!

Clothes Pins Soft Grip XL -36-Pack Clothespins

I hang 90% of my laundry on clotheslines to dry. These clothespins are the best that I've ever used! Previously, I would only use old wooden spring action clothespins because they were the strongest type of pin. These lightweight plastic pins are every bit as strong as the old wooden type pins, plus they are easier to use due to their user-friendly design. Another plus is that these pins open a full 1" wide and can grip even the thickest fabric or garment. Excellent product!

Kaz Home Environment HHT-080 Hepa Tower Air Purifier

Had this air cleaner about 60 days. It quit rotating. Then after about another 30 days, it became so loud that we were not able to leave it on high during bedtime hours. Usually leave it on low so we don't have so much noise. Was not noisy at all in the beginning. Tried to make contact with manufacturer but never recieved call back.

Shark UV209 Upright Vac Tap-Clean HEPA Dust Cup Filter

The reason I bought this item was because I thought I was going to receive what the picture shows: a filter with its ring (the fabric piece). Instead I only received the filter. What in the world do they put a picture with both items if they're only going to send one? I'M VERY DISSAPOINTED... I THINK IT IS VERY WRONG THAT I DIDN'T GET WHAT I PAID FOR!
