Works well, looks good, water tastes great! Very happy with this item.Before you buy, be aware that it is large and heavy. Make sure you have a safe place to keep it so that the spout hangs over the edge of a counter. Berkey makes platform stands for these and has replacement parts on their web site.
Update: After a few weeks, the plastic spout cracked! Maybe someone pushed down too hard on it, but I thought it was a shame that such a nice unit had a cheap spout. I was able to buy replacement spouts and gaskets on the internet for around $10 per set.
Another issue was the gasket started to leak. The seller was helpful and told me to put a drop or two of olive oil on the gasket. This worked after a few tries and it no longer leaks. Bottom line...since this is a preparedness item, it is best to buy one or two replacement spouts and gaskets to keep on hand.
It's been over 6 months now and other than this, I am still pleased with the unit.
