I have owned 3 of them over the past 13 years. We have always been on well water or county water system, therefore, our water has "stuff" in it. The "stuff" is very hard on appliances. A drip coffee maker would last about 6 month in our house. I got tired of replacing them all the time. Another thing I like about a percolator in general is that you don't use filters, so it is more eco-friendly.Con-- Eventually, they do wear out and I have to get another one.
