I actually bought this because some of the reviews say it was loud. We run loud humidifiers to combat traffic noise in our bedrooms. This sucker is QUIET. You can hear a mouse fart with this thing on.Other than that it works like it's supposed to. We kept it as a humidifier because it works so well for that and we just use the loud ones for noise.
