This isn't too shabby of a price for a MERV 8 filter, let alone a MERV 11. I don't know if it's all MERV 11 filters, or just this one, but the down side is that it is so thick that it practically stops the air. I have a little box fan/air filter thing going on and when I put this in, my fan's output gets cut in half. I have a feeling that's just what you get when you have a higher grade filter though. Either way, awesome price. I'm sure it's great for furnace's, but it's not so great on home-rigged fan/filter systems!
