These filters are supposed to last up to a year, I believe. My tall monster HEPA filter was making noise, a sure sign that the filter was going bad...I vacuumed it, but without much change in noise level.So I bought this replacement from Amazon, and not from the cable show where I got the HEPA itself. This replacement seems to fit; looks the same; HEPA is quiet again. No problems so far.
