I have 4 of these....If you want a small kind of noisy fan in the room with you buy it. It does a mediocre at best job of removing pet odor or cigar smoke. I'd buy a larger air cleaner. Please dont repeat my mistake.You get what you pay for. The unit plugs into the wall and operates with the same noise as any 4 inch fan. It doesnt pull enough air through the filter to be effective.
I have a big kenmore that really works well. Its all about moving air through the filter; this one just doesnt seem to pull much through.
